the link is to information about how to donate money through world vision.  I totally encourage everyone to get a sponsor child.  but outside of that, please post your ideas and opinions about how the money I have raised should be used.  I need to calculate my update but it will be just over 2,000 dollars.

post your ideas about how the money should be used!
I’m really excited about this because the money will go a long ways in other peoples lives!

So I’m in a personal struggle.  Sometimes I want to make a piece that is just totally different than my other work.  say, not of a person, not in black and white, not fragmented etc.  then I find myself wondering what people will think, will they be disapointed that it does not follow my other work.  hm….. just some thoughts.

I think with the next goodbye art piece you see pop up will break my norm on all grounds.  It’s time I try something different.  We’ll see if I like it or not but I need to remember that project for my improvement.

art and life

This was a crazy week.  I had one night while working on the goodbye art picture that I didn’t sleep at all.  Awake for 42 hours or something. ugh.  I definitely cannot do that a lot, but sometimes it will be necessary.  That project is finished though and I am pretty happy with the outcome.  It was a picture of Jimi Hendrix made from matches, if you haven’t seen it check it out here.

I have started making a movie poster for Kevin Sites, he has a documentary coming out about his year long “Hot Zone” project and he asked me if I could come up with the poster.  Of course! I said.  He wants a photo mosaic and we are going with a digital creation.  I had heard of software before but thought it was probably expensive, but I ended up finding a shareware version on the web that is simply amazing for being free.  It’s so sad to make a mosaic in two minutes when it took me 6 months to put together the Green River Killer picture.  Ahhhhh, but it feels good to look at a hand crafted piece.

Not a huge amount else is going on right now.

Hope everyone is well.

week

I’ll start by addressing the idea that I’m selling my originals in the “for sale” section.  no I’m not.  The fine art prints, are prints.

So San Fran was amazing.  I absolutely loved it there.  I really hope to get back that way again sometime.  After getting back a friend dropped me off at work and then when she came to pick me up her car got totaled (she is just fine). But of course that caused problems so I ran around and helped her out for a couple days.  Then the bridge fell (I’m in Minneapolis) it’s weird because I drove over it about four hours before it went down.  hm… so that was a distraction for a bit, then on Thursday I made my goodbye art picture which was blahh.  The process was fun but I don’t like the picture.  It just isn’t the quality I want.  Even if someone likes it they can admit it could definitely be better.

I started the next goodbye art piece this weekend, and I’m going to put in the extra time to make it rock.  I love the idea and really want it to go above the other small weekly pieces.  So here’s to hoping I can get it done in a timely manner.  Next week will be a half day piece so I’m not worried about spending more time on this one because I will be caught up.

um… let’s see…. plans…. I need to fix that webcam and somehow get back to the large piece I have in my studio.  I really want to see that piece finished.  It has an element I have never seen used before.

off to bed. g’night
