slow moving

moving in many ways. Goodbye Art has only a couple months left so I decided to really amp it up for the finale. I moved into new studio space a while ago and have recently been setting up my work. It is taking a huge amount of time to get all the pieces hung because some of them didn’t have frames and some needed repairs. The Rosa Parks piece needed some TLC and that piece was tough to get it hung on the wall as it weighs over a hundred pounds. And the KKK piece finally got up off the ground and framed, that was a huge frame 8×14 feet. And the part that is cool for me is all of the work is now up off the floor, not leaning against the wall but actually hung. Gives it a very different presence.

I’m thinking of putting together a DVD of Goodbye Art… but I’m not much of a story teller. I can get a few minutes worth, but trying to span a whole year of ups and downs and many projects it a little overwhelming. If someone has a lot of experience in this field let me know. It would be nice to get some help.

I made fake teeth yesterday, I bought some of that FIMO clay and baked ‘em, then colored ‘em. Kinda gross cause they end up looking rather realistic. You’ll see the outcome of that in the next week or so. And….. yeah, hope ya’ll are well.

your artistic style is just that, yours! i cant think of any other artists that get their message across like you do. i watch with much anticipation to see the direction of each new piece. the subtle hints and materials used for your ventures speaks volumes. your goodbye art set just blows my mind… how you could just let some of those pieces go like that!! great work, good luck on your next project.

    Where’s Phil?

  13. Sarah says:

Phil… how could you do this to your fans. Promise that project made of all of our secrets.. and then never deliver? I’m a little bit heart broken, I really put my trust in you to create something that would really give me some inner peace… and I haven’t seen anything. Plus I get this email saying Goodbye Art is over? I’m not saying I’m mad at you for moving on to bigger and better things, but I am mad that you didn’t follow through with this last project you promised.. :[

I’m disappointed in you. And I think that goes without saying for many of your other fans too.
