Well here is the first piece for my new project. The theme I picked for the remainder of the month is pieces of nature. So you can now tell where this month will head.

this piece was pretty fun and I went ahead with this one without planning. It was fun to just have the idea during the week but no knowing where I was going to go with it the whole time. All I knew was pinecones, I wasn’t even sure what how I was going to do it or the image. So on Saturday I got up and started browsing through my books and found a picture of this gal in the midst of a struggle in inner city life and I liked the idea of applying nature to her.
I found the artistic struggle in how to make some sort of shade with the pinecones but found I could get three lighter shades out of ‘em. I didn’t utilize it a whole lot because I knew the piece would take a bit of time because of so many segments and I had to work later in the day
In a few months I will open the theme to you all and let you discuss it and make a decision and then we’ll see what I come up with. Let me know what you think of this process, etc. It should be kinda interesting as it changes all the time and I will try to find a different approach to each piece even when it is in the same theme. In other words, next week won’t be done this way.
These pieces will be available as a 8×12 inch photo print as I create them. I’ll sign them in first week and then they will continue to be available after that. At the end of the year I will make a small 5×8inch book out of all the pieces, I’ll have it available for pre ordering fairly soon. I think next month I will get far away from my normal stuff and really try something different. Right now I’m just trying to get myself ready for creating a piece so often.
