Why Goodbye Art?
Because each piece made for this project will only last for a short amount of time whether it is for a few hours or a few months, eventually it won’t exist anymore.
The idea:
To make a new picture each week and having a theme each month. This theme will put limitations on me which will hopefully drive creativity and provide the environment for me to develop.
Each month there will be a different theme. I started part way through July with,
- July – Nature
- Aug – Fire
- September – Sidewalk chalk
- October – Food
At the end of October I was feeling overwhelmed with my day job and art and so I cut out of Goodbye Art and focused on my large projects. The large projects were put on hold in mid December because of potential legal issues. I brought back Goodbye Art in January to work more on my creativity. I am starting the new year with
- January – Snow
The Reason for Goodbye Art: Most of my work takes a huge amount of time, but I always have ideas for small pieces but I just don’t have the time. This project is forcing me to have the time to create, be spontaneous, and not care about every little detail.
Photo for sale: Each week the piece will be photographed. The photograph will be put on my site for sale and the first week it is available it will be signed.
